ExOne Profile: S. Kent Rockwell

Steven Kent Rockwell is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The ExOne Company. He has held this investment and position since 2008. Mr. Rockwell has been Chairman and CEO of Rockwell Venture Capital, Inc. since 1983. He operates or invests in a variety of businesses in addition to ExOne including Rockwell Forest Products Inc., Strata Products Worldwide (an underground mining services company), Appalachian Timber Service (supplying quality timber products for railroads), Strata Proximity Systems (providing proximity detection and avoidance systems for mining operations), and Pro Grass, LLC, (a synthetic turf supplier.)

Mr. Rockwell recently retired from Argon ST as Vice Chairman. Argon ST manufactures electronic intelligence, communications, and imaging systems for government and military applications. He is former Chairman, CEO, and President of two publically traded companies, Astrotech International Corporation, where he served from 1986 to 1997, and SensysTech as Chairman and CEO from 1998 through 2005, He also served as a Group President and  member of the board of directors of Rockwell International Inc. from 1973 to 1983.

Mr. Rockwell earned a B.A. in both economics and business from Lafayette College in Easton, PA and attended graduate school at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

ExOne Profile: David Burns

David Burns is President and Chief Operating Officer for The ExOne Company where he is responsible for worldwide operations. Mr. Burns received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from St. John Fisher College and his M.B.A. from The Simon School at the University of Rochester. He serves as Trustee for the Rochester Institute of Technology, the Strong National Museum of Play, and the Executive Advisory Council for The Simon School. He is a former board member and chairman of The Association for Manufacturing Technology.

ExOne Profile: John Irvin

John Irvin is the Chief Financial Officer at The ExOne Company where he is responsible for all financial management and accounting matters. Mr. Irvin graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in accounting. He began his career in the audit department at the international accounting firm of Arthur Andersen & Co. where he became a certified public accountant (CPA). Upon leaving Arthur Andersen & Co., he established John Irvin & Company, a certified public accounting firm.

More recently, Mr. Irvin served as President of PartnersFinancial, a leading national insurance producer group owned by National Financial Partners (NFP), a publicly traded (NYSE) diversified financial services firm.  He also served as Chairman and CEO of Innovative Benefits Consulting, Inc. (IBC), an insurance consulting firm and wholly owned subsidiary of NFP.  He was formerly Partner and Co-Founder of Mid Atlantic Capital Group and president of Mid Atlantic Insurance Corporation.

Mr. Irvin served on the Board of Directors of Argon ST, Inc., a NASDAQ traded firm, where he also served as Chairman of the Audit Committee until it was acquired by The Boeing Company in 2010. He currently serves on the PartnersFinancial Advisory Board and the American College Board.

ExOne Profile: Robert Wood

Robert (Bob) Wood is the Chief Information Officer and Director of ExTEC. He is responsible for direct metal printing operations worldwide and also manages global information technology. Bob was involved in the purchases, new construction and renovation of the ExOne’s North America branch offices which he also integrated into one global network.

Previously Bob was Owner, President and Senior Consultant for GT Systems where he provided consulting and development services to various Fortune 1000 companies with a staff of approximately fifty people. He also worked at Extrude Hone Corporation as their Information Technology Manager and at Westinghouse Electric as a Project Manager responsible for software development, systems engineering and project management for their Marketing Services Division.

Bob received his B.S. in Computer Science from Point Park College. He is a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and received the Westinghouse Award of Excellence.

ExOne Profile: Terrence Senish

Terrence (Terry) Senish is the General Manager of ExOne Midwest where he is responsible for technical sales, shop management, program management and customer development. Prior to ExOne, Terry worked many years in prototype manufacturing with CAD/CAM/CNC. He also has extensive experience in industrial hardware and software sales, service and training, and tool and die manufacturing. He is the previous owner/entrepreneur of a rapid prototyping/3D printing sales and service company focused on industrial applications and education. Terry has a degree in Computer Numerical Control Programming.

ExOne Profile: Leo Dobitz

Leo Dobitz is the General Manager for ExOne South where he is responsible for the overall performance of the Houston, Texas operations for digital part materialization of sand molds and cores. Leo has over thirty-five years of experience in aerospace and defense systems manufacturing. He received the Outstanding Civilian Service Award from the Department of the Air Force, the USAF Civilian of the Year from the California Air Force Association and the USAF Maintenance Effectiveness Award for Large Depots. He also received the Golden Seal Award from the state of California for bay area earthquake support.

Leo received his Bachelor of Science degree from California State University where he also completed the Mid-Level Management program and Executive Development Program in their Graduate School of Business. He is a member of the American Foundry Society.

ExOne Profile: Rainer Höchsmann

Rainer Höchsmann is General Manager of ExOne GmbH and responsible for operations in Europe and Russia.  After completing his training as an electronic technician, Mr. Höchsmann received his Electrical Engineering degree in Industrial Automation from the Technical University of Munich.  His wrote his thesis under Professor Heinzl at the Department of Precision Engineering and Transmission Systems in 1999 on the development and production of a 3D printer for the production of sand cores.  After completion of his studies in 1999, he founded Generis GmbH in Augsburg together with Dr. Ederer and Prof. Heinzl.  Within two years the very first industrial sand printer was sold to BMW AG for their foundry in Landshut.  Mr. Höchsmann is initiator, inventor and co-inventor of a number of patents for 3D printing. In 2003, together with Mr. Gosger he founded Prometal RCT GmbH in Augsburg. He is still General Manager of the renamed company ExOne GmbH.  He played a leading role in the development of the S-Print in 2004 and the S-Max in 2009.  In addition, under his guidance the HHS process for manufacturing high-strength cores using a phenolic binder with a heat-curing process as well as the nonpolluting water glass binder system, which was first presented in 2011, were developed.

Mr. Höchsmann participated in 2007 in the prestigious Global Leadership Seminar at Carnegie Bosch Institute for Applied Studies in International Management.  He also received a number of awards, including the OCE Printing Award from OCE Printers AG, the Technical University of Munich Award for 3D Printing and McKinsey & Company Start-Up Award.  He is a member of the Association of German Engineers.

ExOne Profile: Ken Yokoyama

Ken Yokoyama is the General Manager of ExOne KK, responsible for overall management of the Japan and Asia operations. Ken was involved in the development and implementation of the first laser system at a major Japanese automotive manufacturer. Prior to ExOne, Ken was a Process Engineer for Extrude Hone KK. He received his Master of Science in Industrial Engineering Technology from Central Washington University where he specialized in the design and implementation of wind turbine generators.
